Hazelle Palmer is a Toronto-based artist. Mostly self-taught, Hazelle rekindled her penchant for art after attending an art workshop series in France in the early 1990s. Since then her artwork has appeared on the cover of periodicals and three books, including Eyeing the North Star (McLelland & Stewart, 1997) by George Elliott Clarke. She held her first solo show in 2003 entitled, “Women of Colour”. Of Caribbean heritage, Hazelle was born in London, England and raised in Montreal. She lives in Toronto with her 12-year-old daughter, Ashae.
